Here at the BJP Photography studio in Letchworth we have just completed three weeks of shooting room-sets for this year’s Capital Fireplace catalogue.
A logistical challenge
Twenty six room-sets are assembled, decorated, furnished and dressed in various positions around the studio. It’s this time each year when we realise the studio isn’t as large as we believe it to be. Walking in you could be forgiven for thinking we are really a soft furnishing and household item retailer rather than a photographic studio. However, as each room-set is built, the chaos finally transcends into something beautiful. The fireplaces, mantles and hearths finally come to sit within environments which represent the lifestyles of future customers.
Build and design team
The fireplaces and stoves were installed in the sets created by a team of six from Capital Fireplaces. They also were in charge of the art direction. To see more of the results from the shoot or to purchase any fireplace products visit www.capitalfireplaces.co.uk.
Documentation and videography
The role of ‘blographer’ and photographic assistant for this year was efficiently embraced by Alice Petty of Alice Petty Photography.
Because of her sharp eye for detail, stylist Debbie Binks was in charge of sourcing, supply and returning of all the props and furnishings required. With the number of room-sets involved, this is no mean feat.
